Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is defined as a system of hardware, software, data and people. GIS specializes in the storage, retrieval, analysis and mapping of geographically referenced data. A GIS lets us visualize, question, analyze, interpret, and understand data so that we can discover relationships, patterns and trends.
This workshop will introduce you to the basics of GIS through a series of hands-on laboratories and examples.
Please join us and learn what GIS can do for you!
Open to UNCG faculty, staff, and students. Attendees must register at http://cgis.uncg.edu/gis-workshop/.
