Cindex professional indexing software is now available over the UNCG network for academic departments.  This software, provided by the Office of Research & Economic development, enables index creation for books, journal articles and other documents in a variety of formats.  It is available for both Windows and Macintosh computers.

To learn more about the indexing software, see the Cindex Overview.

Windows users on the General Computing Network (“GCN”) may install Cindex from “Run Advertised Programs”. Macintosh users should contact 6-Tech to arrange a time for ITS to manually install the software, as an online installation is not currently available.

The software works by communicating with the KeyServer “license manager” on the UNCG network.  If you need to run the software from off campus, ask about using VPN (virtual private network) software to connect remotely to UNCG’s network.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact 6-TECH at (336) 256-TECH (8324) or 6tech@uncg.edu.
