German Embassy Teacher of Excellence
Kreitinger receives 2016 award
Dr. Brooke Kreitinger has been awarded the 2016 German Embassy Teacher of Excellence award. She will be honored by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages at their Annual Convention and World Languages Expo. The expo, which aims to provide professional development for language educators of all levels to improve student success in these programs, will be held November 18-20 in Boston.
Dr. Kreitinger also received a grant from the German Embassy for $10,200 for her work on UNCG’s German Week. For the fifth consecutive year, the UNCG German Program ranked among roughly 45 colleges and universities across the U.S. that participated in the German Embassy’s annual Campus Weeks. Through course offerings and participation in campus competitions, students in UNCG’s German Program, International Honors College, International Global Studies Program, International Business School, and the Global Village living-learning community explored the relationship between Germany and the U.S. throughout history through creative and scholarly projects including video projects, policy papers, essays, film screenings, and attending lectures at a one-day symposium.
