In true entrepreneurial fashion, NCEC GEMS students have created their own event for the Greensboro celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Arthur Stuart, an NC A&T student in the UNCG NCEC Growing Entrepreneurs by Mentoring Students program, has organized students from across Greensboro to create the “The Time is Now” Emerging Entrepreneurs Festival. The event celebrates the courage, tenacity, and character required of sustainable business owners and brings together like-minded, aspiring young entrepreneurs from all over the state for an evening of informative entertainment.

The Nov. 16 festival will feature Hank Leber, the founder and CEO of GonnaBe.com. Leber is a “serial entrepreneur” with a diverse background including time as an advertising agency associate and rock band manager. Featured in Forbes and Fast Company, his new social media app has made Leber a rising star in the industry.

In addition to the keynote speaker, the event will feature a Young Entrepreneur Showcase, group activities designed to engage participants, and free food and beverages.  Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other emerging entrepreneurs and to showcase their new businesses to potential customers and investors.

Majorie Holloway, a former CW television personality and Greensboro College alumna will host the festival, which the creators have worked to make fun. “Entrepreneurship is a very exciting process, this event should reflect that.”

Friday’s 4-8 pm festival is at the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship. To learn more, go to https://www.facebook.com/gsotimeisnow.
