Stine receives funding for Durham land use mapping – Research News
UNCG Research congratulates Dr. Roy Stine on receiving $15,000 in funding from the City of Durham for his project “Land Use Mapping for the City of Durham NC.”
Stine will research methods to create land use and land cover maps for Durham, NC, using high spatial resolution multi-temporal satellite imagery. The project will analyze a variety of satellite platforms including the World View 2, Quickbird, and Ikonos satellites. These data will be combined with ancillary materials provided by the City of Durham, primarily digital parcel records, to produce generalized land use/land cover maps.
