DESCRIPTION:@ 			\n			\n							 \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Kailan Rubinoff\, Associate Professor of Musicology in the School of Music and Cross-appointed Faculty in Women’s\, Gender\, and Sexuality Studies to talk about how she used the Linda Arnold Carlisle Faculty Grant to support her research.  \nWith the support of the grant\, she conducted ethnographic research among the QueerPassion musicians and audience members at the BachFest Leipzig in June 2025.  \nThe QueerPassion is a reimagining of J.S. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a unique film screening & live hip hop performance! \n\n\n\nShaolin Jazz will perform a special CAN I KICK IT? presentation. They will screen the sci-fi action classic THE MATRIX\, but with the added twist of a live music soundtrack by DJ 2-Tone Jones.  \n\n\n\nTHE MATRIX (The Wachowskis\, 1999) is a seminal film that combines innovative martial arts choreography\, groundbreaking CGI effects\, and a philosophical debate about identity and purpose within an AI dominated dystopia. \n\n\n\nThis event is presented by UNCG Human Rights Film Festival and sponsored by Media Studies\, Lloyd International Honors College\, Peace & Conflict Studies\, Political Science\, and Women’s\, Gender\, & Sexuality Studies.
