SUMMARY:Webinars Worth Watching
DESCRIPTION:Virtual programming and presentations\, such as webcasts or webinars\, are becoming more and more common in education and the workforce. But how many webinars have you been to that don’t keep you engaged and leave you scrolling in the background? Graduate students need to be able to present their work and research digitally\, as well as communicate information effectively and quickly within the virtual programming tool.   The UNCG Graduate School and University Libraries are hosting their sixth “Webinars Worth Watching” (WWW) competition for face-to-face AND online graduate students to determine who can give the most effective webinar or virtual presentation in 10 minutes. \n\n\n\nThe finalists (listed below) will present this Friday\, February 20 @ 2:00pm. There are cash prizes for the winner and second place participants\, as well as a People’s Choice. This event is free and open to the public. It will last approximately one hour.  \n\n\n\nPlease register to attend and spread the word — come cheer on the finalists! \n\n\n\nWebinars Worth Watching finalists: \n\n\n\nValessa Agoris:“Presenting Socialism to the West”Department: HistoryFaculty Mentor: Dr. Jeff Jones Brytani Crowe: “Letting Go of Grades (Without Letting Go of Learning)”Department: EnglishFaculty Mentor: Dr. Risa Applegarth Nooshin KianvashRad: “Using Nanotechnology to Strengthen Antifungal Treatments”Department: NanoscienceFaculty Mentor: Dr. Dennis LaJeunesse Henriikka Koivisto: “The Politics of Flesh and Corporeal Consumption in Horror Fiction”Department: EnglishFaculty Mentor: Dr. Karen Weyler
