You may apply to the FY 2024 Internal Research Awards from September 15\, 2023 through October 13. 2023 at 5pm. Starting this year\, there will only be one competition per year\, with the deadline in the fall.  In addition to the usual $5\,000 individual and $10\,000 collaborative awards\, there will be up to 5\, $25\,000 awards for interdisciplinary teams. DESCRIPTION:The UNCG Prison Education Program\n  A Presentation by Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan \n  Tuesday\, September 26  \n 4 – 6 p.m. \n Alumni House\, Oakley Family Reception Room \nUNCG’s College of Arts & Sciences invites you to its annual presentation of the Dean’s Award for the Promotion of Diversity and Inclusiveness. \nThe 2023 award recipient is Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan\, a UNCG professor of philosophy\, for his development of the UNCG Prison Education Program. \nThis program\, which has set up a college education program at Butner Federal Prison in North Carolina\, pierces the barrier between prisons and our community and advances the university’s mission of “redefining the 21st century public research university as an inclusive\, collaborative\, and responsive institution.” \nUNCG faculty\, staff\, students\, and friends are invited to join us as Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan shares more about the UNCG Prison Education Program. \nA reception with light refreshments will follow. \nWe look forward to seeing you there!
