Publication & Exhibition Subsidies

The Office of Research and Engagement provides Publication and Exhibition Subsidies to supplement charges associated with:

  • publications of books, including indexing
  • development of media, exhibition, and performance charges
  • page charges for publishing manuscripts, and
  • costs of reprints.

Faculty can apply for up to $1,000 per academic year.

These limited funds assist with publication and exhibition expenses incurred while serving in a UNCG faculty appointment and within the last 12-month period. Reapplications are not considered if partial support has already been provided by this program.

Submit a brief statement outlining the amount of funding you are requesting and what it will be used for (i.e. printing costs, photos, etc.) to Barbara Hemphill, Office of Research and Engagement, 1712 MHRA.

Open Access Publishing Support Fund

Currently, there are more than 30,000 open access journals published worldwide, and in lieu of a subscription-based business model, many open access journals require that authors pay an article processing fee. The University Libraries and the Office of Research and Engagement provide the Open Access Publishing Support Fund to support those who choose open access publishing as the best venue for their work.

Full-time faculty, full-time EHRA employees, and enrolled graduate students can apply to the University Libraries for this funding.

Note: This fund is not administered by the Office of Research and Engagement. Please contact your department’s UNCG Libraries Liaison for more information.
