The Office of Research Integrity is pleased to announce that Cayuse Human Ethics has been selected to replace the current online IRB submission system, IRBIS.

On Monday, April 5, 2021, the Office of Research Integrity will transition from the current online system, IRBIS, to the new IRB submission system, Cayuse Human Ethics. Beginning on this date, all IRB submissions must be submitted through the Cayuse Human Ethics System.

In preparation for moving to the new system, both systems will be unavailable from Wednesday, March 31 to Sunday, April 4.

Studies that are currently approved will be transitioned in batches from IRBIS to Cayuse between March 31 and April 11. During this period, modifications will not be possible.

Please note, closed studies, submissions that are currently in draft, and submissions with stipulations more than 60 days old will NOT be transferred to Cayuse. Files will be available for download from IRBIS until at least June 2021.

Live training workshops will be offered via Zoom. Principal Investigators and research team members should plan to attend. Training dates can be found on the UNCG Cayuse Human Ethics Resource page. The training will be recorded and will be available to those who could not attend.

Cayuse Human Ethics FAQs and step-by-step instructions will also be located on the UNCG Cayuse Human Ethics Resource page. The Cayuse Human Ethics Resource page is currently “under construction.” Additional resources will be added as the implementation proceeds.

Helpful resources for the Cayuse Human Ethics module can be found in the “Cayuse Resource Center.”

NOTE: Due to the implementation, turnaround time for IRB submissions may be delayed. Please consider this as you prepare your IRB submission.

If you have any questions regarding the implementation, please email our office at ori@uncg.edu.
