Cohort 2: Community-Engaged Pathways and Partnerships (P2): A Collective Scholarship Fellows Program

The Community-Engaged Pathways and Partnerships Collective Scholarship Fellows program is a grant administered by the Institute for Community and Economic and Engagement and funded by the Office of Research and Engagement. This grant supports the development of sustainable pathways and partnerships in community-engaged partnerships. In 2019, a second cohort of grant teams will begin the three-year fellows program. One team, co-led by Michael Hemphill (KIN) and Jeremy Rinker (PCS), will focus on conflict transformation through health and physical education. The team comprised of faculty, administrators, graduate students, and community partners will work directly with Dudley High School. The other team, led by Erin Lawrimore (University Libraries), will work with the Triad Brewer’s Alliance to train local breweries on how to utilize oral histories of local brewers to increase marketing and tourism in the Triad.

ICEE Faculty Fellows Opportunities

ICEE Faculty Fellows bring together faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community members to advance community engagement at UNC Greensboro and beyond. We invite you to explore the 2019 opportunities to enhance your community-engaged practices. Attend the Be Here Club to informally network with people interested in creating real opportunities for societal improvement on a local level with Elise Eifert (GRO) and Monica Scovell (Study Abroad); learn about digital storytelling tools, oral history, methodology, and website archiving in the Archives, Archiving, and Community group with Erin Lawrimore (University Libraries); come write along other scholars in the Community Engagement Writing Group with Michael Hemphill (KIN); and participate in the Circles of Pedagogy and Practice group to engage in dialogue and learn the practice with Jeremy Rinker (PCS).

Community Engagement Speaker Series

To propel UNC Greensboro’s momentum as a community-engaged university, each year UNCG brings nationally and locally renowned community engagement scholar-practitioners to campus to engage with faculty, staff, students, and community colleagues. Speakers facilitate discussions on key aspects of engagement, including capacity development for engaged teaching, learning, research, and creative activity; expansion of policies, structures, and paradigms to support engagement; and alignment of institutional and community priorities through engagement. Check out this year’s events including a session on Wednesday, March 20th, with UNCG’s own Dr. Jill Chouinard, titled “A Discussion of Culturally Responsive Approaches to Evaluation.”
