Filene pens letter to editor regarding museum studies partnership

Dr. Benjamin Filene, associate professor in the Department of History, wrote a Letter to the Editor of the News & Record regarding the partnership of the International Civil Rights Center & Museum and the museum studies program at UNCG.

Filene describes the impending partnership as “fruitful” and commented on upcoming projects being implemented.

“On Dec. 12, we will be opening an exhibition about the history of Guantánamo Bay, a traveling display that my graduate students helped create through the national Guantanamo Public Memory project, he wrote. “With support from the North Carolina Humanities Council, we are also launching ‘GTMO & GSO,’ a set of public programs and exhibit supplements that will bring Guantánamo’s lessons home to Greensboro.”
