The North Carolina Biotechnology Center’s Triad BioNight will take place on June 20th this year, at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center here in Greensboro.

A premier event for the Triad’s biotechnology community, the gala brings together hundreds of leaders from academia, industry, and government to celebrate the success and impact of life sciences in our region.

A cornerstone of the event is the NC Biotechnology Center’s Excellence Awards ceremony. Local researchers and entrepreneurs can nominate colleagues for these awards in five categories:

  • Research & Development Excellence,
  • Entrepreneurial Excellence,
  • Academic Development Excellence,
  • Biotechnology Community Leadership Excellence, and
  • Biotechnology Service/Support Excellence.

Nominations are due May 23rd.

The gala has a history of attracting high-level keynotes, and the trend continues this year with speaker David Hollinrake, the President and North America Region Director of Syngenta Seeds LLC.

Raised on a corn and soybean farm in Illinois, Hollinrake cultivated a passion for agriculture early. Now, he comes to the gala with 25 years of experience in the industry. He holds an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.S. in Agriculture Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before joining Syngenta, Hollinrake served as Vice President of North America Marketing and Portfolio Management for Bayer CropScience LP.

Triad BioNight is hosted by the NCBiotech Piedmont Triad Office and the Advisory Committee for Biotechnology in the Piedmont Triad. UNCG Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement Dr. Terri Shelton serves on the Advisory Committee.

“The partnership between UNCG and NC Biotech has been a long and fruitful one, supporting the creation of new knowledge, innovation, and economic development in our community and state,” says Shelton.

The North Carolina Biotechnology Center is a private, non-profit corporation supported by the N.C. General Assembly. Its mission is to provide long-term economic and societal benefits to North Carolina by supporting biotechnology research, business, education and strategic policy statewide.
