Repost from Campus Weekly

Dr. Chris Payne (Human Development and Family Studies/Center for Youth, Family, and Community Partnerships) received new funding from Youth Focus Inc. for the project “My Sister Susan’s House parenting workshops.” My Sister Susan’s House is a transitional living program that supports young pregnant women or young mothers who have been the victim of domestic violence. The abstract notes that this will provide a center staff person who will give parenting workshops for the residents of the program; work with the Youth Focus staff for the purpose of identifying additional programmatic needs and resources to meet those needs; ensure the confidentiality of all persons at MSSH; and collaborate on other related activities as requested by Youth Focus and the center. Payne is director of the Center for Youth, Family, and Community.
