The Community-Engaged Pathways and Partnerships (P2) grant supports teams of faculty, staff, and community partners in their capacity building and their efforts towards collective action and commitments in their partnerships. In this session, ICEE staff will discuss the principles of community-engaged scholarship, community-identified priorities, and collective action. The P2 grant is hosted by the Office of Research and Engagement and the Institute for Community and Economic Engagement. All members of grant teams are welcome to attend. This workshop will explore how to get the most from grant seeking databases, including SPIN, GrantSelect, Grant Advisor Plus, and the Foundation Center. Participants learn to search for possible funding opportunities, practice identifying eligibility, and realize the importance of key words. Introduction to R for Data Analysis

Hands‐on introduction to using the R language for statistical analysis for those with little or no experience. Topics will include:

Prerequisites: No previous experience using R is required. Participants must have a laptop with wireless internet access, able to install and run the R program. Instructor: Dr. Scott Richter is Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and Director of the UNCG Statistical Consulting Center. He teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in statistical methodology and consults extensively with researchers across campus. This session will cover Contracts and Grants-specific Banner Finance Content. If you are a Principal Investigator, this is the only session you will need! This workshop will introduce you to the new Banner grant forms containing the details of the Contracts and Grants awards in your organization. You will learn to query and view the awards to find the project and budget dates, indirect cost rates, agency information, etc. You will also learn to view the grant expenses and budget availability in both Banner INB and the UNCG Budget Query available in UNC-Genie (Self-service). Note that you must have a Banner account and Banner Finance Access to take this class. Access to Banner Finance requires a Banner user ID which is authorized for the specific data and functions for your need. Fill out the Banner Runtime Account Request at http://accounts.uncg.edu and follow the instructions. Access to your specific Banner Finance funds requires a Banner Finance Access Form. Child and Family Research Network Fall Social

The Child and Family Research Network (CFRN) is a group of faculty members and researchers from the UNCG community whose scholarship and teaching reflects a core concern for the welfare of children and families. The goal of the Network is to facilitate collaboration among these faculty and other individuals interested in children and families, and to enhance scholarship, teaching, and service within the local, regional, national and international community. The Network provides support for scholarship, teaching, and service through workshops, funding opportunities, scholarly gatherings, and e-resources designed to bring faculty together to enhance their work. OHRP Exploratory Workshop: Meeting New Challenges in Informed Consent in Clinical Research

Collaboration for Research on Health Improvement Network (CRHIM) – Speed Networking

This workshop will provide tips on setting up and managing a Zotero account, including adding citations and bibliographies to Word documents. UNCG Entrepreneur Day

On Entrepreneur Day, successful entrepreneurs, many of them UNCG alumni, visit classes across the campus and share their experiences through solo presentations and panel discussions. Students receive exposure to new potential career paths, opportunities, and connections, while faculty benefit from guest speakers with content relevant to their courses. Since 2012, approximately 50 classes with 2,000+ students have hosted speakers each year; 110 different faculty members teaching in 51 different subject areas have hosted 142 different guest speakers. 2 Minutes to Win It Business Competition

Each year, the North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center at UNC Greensboro sponsors the 2 Minutes to Win It Business Idea Competition. 2 Minutes is open to all full-time students who are at least 18 years old at UNCG, NCAT, Greensboro College, Guilford College, Bennett College, Elon University, Guilford Tech and High Point University. On Pitch Day, the 20 Finalists selected by a panel of First Round Judges will have two minutes to pitch their ideas to another panel of 30+ Entrepreneur Judges. The winners will be announced at the following reception. Prizes include $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, $250 for third place and $250 for the best presentation, as well as other prizes.
