The Research Engagement and Collaboration Hub (REACH) is UNCG’s Research Leadership Academy, launching in January 2026. This faculty-focused program equips participants with the skills, strategies, and connections to lead transformative research projects, secure competitive funding, and foster collaborations across disciplines and sectors. 

The Research Engagement and Collaboration Hub (REACH) is designed to prepare UNCG faculty to: 

  • Lead interdisciplinary and team-based research projects. 
  • Secure large-scale and competitive external funding. 
  • Build meaningful partnerships with community, industry, and government. 
  • Navigate research compliance, policies, and project management. 
  • Translate research for broader societal and community impact.

REACH sessions will address core areas of research leadership identified by UNCG faculty, including: 

  • Building partnerships with industry and community organizations 
  • Leading interdisciplinary research teams 
  • Finding and competing for large-scale funding 
  • Navigating research policy and compliance 
  • Managing project budgets and timelines 
  • Science communication and public engagement 

By the end of the program, participants will: 

  • Lead interdisciplinary and team-based research projects. 
  • Secure large-scale and competitive external funding. 
  • Build meaningful partnerships with community, industry, and government. 
  • Navigate research compliance, policies, and project management. 
  • Translate research for broader societal and community impact.

  • Format: Cohort-based faculty program

  • Commitment: Approximately 4–6 hours per month 
  • Eligibility: Open to UNCG faculty at all career stages 
  • Cost: Free for all participants

  • Notification of Selection: Week of December 15, 2025

To apply, faculty must submit: 

  • A short online application form 
  • A 2-page CV 
  • Responses to several brief questions about goals, interests, and relevance to program themes 

Selection: Applications will be reviewed by a committee within the Division of Research & Engagement.
