Art has always been a part of Aguilar’s life. It led her to check out UNCG, and all her experiences convinced her to stay for her master of fine arts. Her professors encouraged her to explore her Mexican roots, inspiring some of her favorite creations.

Through hands‑on lab work, mentorship, and campus leadership, he found confidence, community, and a passion for inquiry. After graduating, Dr. Kaira Wagoner ’11, ’15, PhD., stayed on at UNCG and is now director of the Plant & Pollinator Center. She’s a leader in honeybee protection across Greensboro, spreading her knowledge across through the Bee Campus and through local classrooms and parks.
