Making it on Main Street

February 18 @ 5:30 pm 7:30 pm

Hosted by the Bryan School of Business & Economics School Climate Committee and co-sponsored by the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, this event bridges the classroom and the regional economy. It brings together business owners, economic development leaders, and strategic partners to explore how the Triad’s business landscape is evolving—and how we, as educators and researchers, can engage with it more intentionally.

Moderated by award-winning journalist Jordan Brown of FOX8 WGHP, the panel will explore workforce development, access to capital, entrepreneurship, shifting consumer behavior, and regional growth strategy. Faculty will gain direct insight into the lived experiences of local entrepreneurs and the structural forces shaping business in Greensboro and across the Triad.

This event offers:

  • A deeper understanding of the current economic climate affecting our students and community partners
  • Opportunities to identify potential guest speakers, research collaborators, and experiential learning sites
  • Connections with regional leaders who can inform curriculum, case studies, and applied scholarship
  • Insight into inclusive and sustainable business practices happening right in our backyard
  • This is more than a panel. It is a professional development opportunity, a networking space, and a chance to strengthen the alignment between higher education and regional economic growth.
  • For faculty who are interested in grounding your teaching, research, and service in the realities of Greensboro and the Triad, this conversation is worth joining.
