UNC Greensboro School of Education faculty members and initiatives were awarded an impressive $8,865,473 in external grants and funding through over 44 awards during the 2023-24 academic year.
Dr. Ye He, professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Higher Education, has been named the recipient of the Helena Gabriel Houston Distinguished Professor for Elementary Education.
Sarah Leck ’24 and Stacy Huff ’22 represented UNCG and the School of Education on Graduate Education Day, speaking with lawmakers about the ways they believe higher education can better impact more students.
The Smiley Award, which supports global educational opportunities for current School of Education (SOE) undergraduate and graduate students, has been presented to undergraduate student Mary Beth McCaskill (Department of Teacher Education and Higher Education) and graduate student Youn Jung Ho (Department of Counseling and Educational Development).
The Paula and Rick Short Endowed Fellowship in Education was established in the spring of 2023 and Department of Counseling and Educational Development doctoral student Alex Cammarano has been named the first recipient of the award.
