Nir Kshetri, Ph.D., professor in UNCG’s Bryan School of Business and Economics, specializes in how emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, Web3 and the metaverse transform global economies, organizations, and societies. Ksherti received a Fulbright award to conduct research in Nepal starting in January 2026. He plans to focus his research on the impact of AI on higher education in developing countries.
Building on University strengths, the Chancellor’s Initiative for Transformative Research champions projects that address pressing societal challenges, revolutionize creative scholarship, advance health and wellness, and foster emerging technologies.
The new Google-funded cybersecurity clinic is protecting small businesses and non-profits from emerging online threats while preparing UNCG students for high-demand careers. It is close to reaching its first-year goal after just one semester.
