Dr. Kailan Rubinoff, Associate Professor of Musicology in the School of Music and Cross-appointed Faculty in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies to talk about how she used the Linda Arnold Carlisle Faculty Grant to support her research.
With the support of the grant, she conducted ethnographic research among the QueerPassion musicians and audience members at the BachFest Leipzig in June 2025.
The QueerPassion is a reimagining of J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion with a new libretto by Thomas Höft that highlights stories of violence against LGBTQ+ people in the eighteenth century and recent times.
Join us April 1st at noon in the Macdonald Room/Curry 231.
