Repost from Campus Weekly

Dr. Wayne Journell (Teacher Education/Higher Education) received funding from Wake Forest University for the project “Creating Videos of Exemplary Social Studies Instruction.” The mini-grant will enable the production of a series of web-enabled videos that demonstrate effective social studies teaching that is rooted in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. This proposal was written in collaboration and cooperation between Wake Forest University, UNCG, Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, and Guilford County Schools, with the overriding objectives being to increase higher education faculty’s knowledge of the revised North Carolina Standard Course of Study and to develop a variety of web-enabled videos that demonstrate effective, research-based pedagogical approaches to teaching social studies, that will ultimately be shared with educators throughout the state.
