New Camp Proves Inspiring for Greensboro Girls

For two days during spring break, 50 elementary-aged girls tried new physical activities and games in a welcoming, empowering environment at UNC Greensboro. They were part of the inaugural Active Girls-Healthy Girls Spring Break Camp, which was held by UNCG’s Center for Women’s Health and Wellness with the School of Health and Human Sciences.

Dr. Art Murphy Receives Award from NC DHHS To Continue “Recipe for Success”

Dr. Art Murphy, Professor in the Department of Anthropology, was awarded a new contract with the NC Department of Health and Human Services to continue funding the long-running “Recipe for Success” program. The one-year contract, for $1.04 million, will support the program’s on-going efforts to improve nutrition education in low-income communities in the region.

Student Led Event Creates Unity in Diversity

According to Merriam-Webster, unity is “the state of being one; oneness,” while diversity refers to “variety, assortment or mixture.” Jamaas Britton (’24 MFA Drama) thinks there can, and should, be both. So, he created “Unity in Diversity,” an event for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students in the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) to showcase their talents.
